THE 16th Maindee Festival will take place this Saturday, July 7.

This year’s theme is Maindee 2012 – the festval’s own take on the London Olympics. Don’t miss the street parade on Corporation Road at midday, which will feature hundreds of ‘Maindee Olympians,’ three marching bands and the flags of more than 25 nations.

The festival site (1pm-8pm at Maindee Primary School) has free entertainment, with a varied programme featuring music and arts on three stages from the likes of Rusty Shackle, ToyPop!, Denni Dennis’ Company of Clowns and Mr and Mrs Clark. Admission is free, but no dogs and no glass, please, and site parking is for disabled drivers only.
