PARALYMPIC cyclists Mark Colbourne and Jody Cundy will be at the Wales National Velodrome on Sunday, July 8.

The pair, who will compete for the Team GB Paralympic team in London this summer, will be on hand to give cycling tips and sign autographs.

Fans can pre-book to attend drop-in sessions at 11am, 1pm and 3pm to have go on the 250- metre banked track and learn track cycling basics from qualified coaches.

Alternatively, join a Sky Ride trail around Newport. These are suitable for all the family and will leave the Velodrome at 10am, noon and 2pm. Just bring your bike and cycling helmet along. Cycle Tots sessions will also be available between 11am to 2pm for children aged two to five.

A LATER training session with Team GB’s Olympic cycling team has been rescheduled. An open session that was due to take place on July 24 has moved to July 26.

People can watch the cyclists making their final preparations for the Olympic Games at the Wales National Velodrome, Newport, between 2pm and 4pm.

Tickets are available from 9.30am today online at newport.gov.uk/activenewport or by calling Newport City Council’s contact centre on 01633 656656.

Only two tickets per person will be available and will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

Once you have registered, tickets will be available to collect from the South East Wales Regional Pool at the Newport International Sports Village on the day.

Terms and conditions will apply and you will not be able to film or photograph any of the training session.
