Garden gear donated to Cwmbran school
6:30pm Friday 13th July 2012 in News
CROWNBRIDGE School in Croesyceiliog, Cwmbran received garden equipment thanks to a house clearance charity based in Abergavenny.
Homemakers came to the aid of the school by donating gardening equipment collected from houses cleared.
The charity, which works with Monmouthshire County Council, also carries out house clearances for the general public and aims to reuse or recycle 100 per cent of the items collected.
Homemakers is a voluntary organisation with many of its volunteers coming from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Rob Davies of Homemakers said: “It came to our attention that the school was trying to raise funds for some equipment through their campaign with Asda.
“Wehave collected a large quantity of garden equipment over the last few months and we are always keen to help other organisations.”
Homemakers has a showroom at the Workhouse in Abergavenny where reuseable furniture can be purchased at affordable prices.
