YOUNGSTERS in Abertillery are being taught everything they need to know about graffiti art as part of a new project.

Blaenau Gwent Youth Service is behind the project, which is aimed at those aged between 11 and 25.

The course, which started last Tuesday, aims to provide the youngsters with the equipment they need and to learn more about graffiti art.

The free course, funded by the Arts Council of Wales, continues this week with a trip to Bristol – the home of one of the UK’s most famous graffiti artists Banksy – where they will see an entire street covered from top to bottom in graffiti art.

They will then be able to use the skills they have learnt to paint a piece at Abertillery Skate Park on August 27 with the help of artists.

For more information about the project, call the youth service office on 01495 355811.
