Caerphilly County Borough Council congratulated their students who passed their A-Levels today.

The overall pass rate in Caerphilly county borough schools was 95.3% (A*-E) across all examination boards, down from 98.0% in 2011, which was the best performance year ever.

The percentage of A*-A was 14.5% and 65.2% of grades were at C or above.

There was a slight rise in the number of entries this year from 1,410 to 1,418 and this year saw more students taking the Welsh Baccalaureate.

Cabinet Member for Education and Lifelong Learning at Caerphilly County Borough Council, Cllr Rhianon Passmore said: "Our young people and their teachers deserve to be congratulated on their performance.  The results are due to the hard work of our students and the commitment of the teachers of Caerphilly county borough".
