SEVERN BRIDGE TOLL workers have called off their work to rule and had overtime reinstated after what they have described  as "positive" talks with Severn River Crossings.

Workers with the Unite union had planned the work to rule action for Tuesday in response to Severn River Crossing’s , who are responsible for the operation of the Severn toll bridge, move to change workers shift patterns.

Jeff Woods, Unite’s regional officer, said: " Following a really positive meeting today we are more than optimistic that by Wednesday an agreement will be in place.

"Both parties are now working together and as a result the planned action for Tuesday (August 21) has been suspended while negotiations are on-going.

''However, the 24 hour strike action for Friday (August 24) remains in place for the time being."
