A LIBERAL Democrat councillor is defecting.

Cwmtillery councillor Cheryl Morris was one of three Lib Dems on the council, but is now poised to join the People's Voice group alongside AM Trish Law and MP Dai Davies.

The news comes after the defection of two long-standing Labour councillors to People's Voice earlier this year - former mayor Don Wilcox and current mayor John Rogers.

Councillor Morris said: "I received a lot of help from the Independents in my area and I fully support what Trish and Dai do."
