TWITTER users have been reporting hearing the boom or seeing a light in the sky last night.
Heidi Nicholson wrote: "Saw what much have been a really bright ‘meteor’ last night overhead in Griffithstown. It went towards Cwmbran and ‘went out’.
Lee Peterson wrote: "I saw it over Newport! Glad to hear it was a meteorite. I thought maybe E.T was back!"
But Rhiannon Powell missed it. She joked: "Am I the only one in Cwmbran who didn’t hear the loud bang? I can, However, confirm that it wasn’t a meteor but an alien spaceship."
