POLICE have arrested a woman under the mental health act after reports of an attempt to jump off Newport Bridge.
A Gwent Police spokesman said the force received reports a woman was attempting to jump off the city centre bridge at 12.10 today.
Officers attended and arrested a 35-year-old woman from Newport under the mental health act.
She was in police custody this afternoon.
