Two incidents on the same stretch of road caused traffic chaos this afternoon

Police were called to Malpas Road at 1.25pm after a car crash.

A blue Vauxhall Astra and a black and silver Ford Ranger were involved in the incident which caused tailback along the road for around an hour.

One lane of the road was closed until around 2.30pm when it was re-opened. No-one was injured in the collision.

On the same road, near the canal entrance, police and an ambulance service rapid response vehicle attended a man who was suffering from minor hand injuries at 2.15pm.

The man was dealt with at the scene and was able to go on his way.
