A pet rabbit's leg was broken after it was savagely kicked and beaten in St Mellons.
The incident took place in the evening of August 28 in Coleford Drive. Two blonde haired boys, thought to be around 11 years old, were seen kicking the animal four times before running in the direction of Willowbrook Drive.
Despite sustaining a broken leg and facial injuries, the animal is likely to make a full recovery.
Nicola Johnson, an RSPCA inspector said: "This was an act of mindless cruelty and it's vital that someone helps us trace these youths.
"The x-ray shows that the rabbit's leg snapped completely under the savage pressure of the attack. Somebody in the area must know something about this incident and I would urge them to make contact immediately."
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the RSPCA inspector appeal line on 0300 123 8018. All calls are confidential.
