A PERSON was taken to hospital with burns to the face and arms following a factory fire in Blaenavon last night.

Fire crews were called to ITW Foils, Kays and Kears Industrial Estate, at 11.44pm following the incident which involved 25 litres of two different chemicals in a mixing vessel.

The fire, which was caused by accidental ignition, had already been put out by the time crews arrived but one person was taken to hospital for precautionary checks after suffering from burns to the face and arms.

Crews from Cwmbran, Aberdare, Blaina, New Inn and Blaenavon attended the incident.

A South Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said there was no information on how many people were in the building at the time.
