Welsh Secretary Cheryl Gillan has indicated she will be replaced in today's Cabinet reshuffle.
The MP for MP for Chesham and Amersham has removed the position of Welsh Secretary from her biography on social networking site Twitter and wrote "Great privilege to serve in Cabinet but can serve party from back benches to," from the official @welsh_secretary account.
Welsh Conservatives will be keen for Prime Minister David Cameron to replace Mrs Gillan with an MP sitting in a Welsh seat.
Mrs Gillan has been in her position since 2010 despite having a constituency in Buckinghamshire.
Wales Office minister David Jones and Stephen Crabb, a whip, are possible contenders to replace her.
