A 17-YEAR-OLD appeared at Cwmbran Youth Court charged with burglary, theft and fraud.
The teenager admitted the burglary and theft at a Newport home on June 14 where he and his girlfriend stole items worth £1,000 from her parents’ house.
He also admitted fraud by false representation by taking £25 from his mother’s bank account and transferring it to his girlfriend’s account on June 22.
The teenager said this was money owed to him by his mother.
He then committed a commercial burglary at a New Inn business on June 25 where he took a laptop, boots, a piggy bank containing £2 coins and a computer – only the boots were recovered.
The court heard the youth broke into his mother’s home on July 4 and stole food as he was homeless and hungry.
Magistrates heard he had no previous convictions and were told by the teenager that this will never happen again.
The 17-year-old was given a referral order, which includes an intensive contract, and was ordered to pay £250 in compensation.
