Maybe drivers should be a bit more careful ?
There is zero evidence to suport your claimthat it is the drivers fault. If that were the case lorrys would be going over on other roads but they are not.

An example of poor road design along the entire road - poorly designed roundabouts (3 lanes into 2, 2 not wide enough for busses or lorries), uneven road surfaces, no cambers so when it rains the water runs across the carriageways causing additional driving hazards (the Romans designed cambers to stop this happening).

BUT, they the drivers are well aware of their loads, and on bends, roundabouts should SLOW down, they do not... just watch them on that SDR, they race each other sometimes, especially the open backed tipper trucks.
Just park up and watch them, Im compiling an in car cctv collection of their bad driving, to send to the welsh government agency in charge of Highways.

However, A good road can tolerate a bad driver as can good drivers cope with a bad road, but the combination of both bad roads and bad drivers invariably raised the likelihood of an elevated series of similar accidents such as is being observed on the SDR.
The driver will be held to account for his driving and the road authority must be held to account for the road.
It's only a matter of time before serious injury and loss of life will force action on the issue and of course by then, for someone, that will be too late.

i think its due to the lorry drivers being over whelmed by the beauty of Newport the superb architecture, the superb shops and the upmarket smartly dressed residents with their Chihuahuas strolling down the roads.
Take the blinkers off you moron

The silence from the Welsh Government and Newport City Council is deafening and the consultation is history. What's happening ARUP? We need to know, should I move?
