A TEENAGER allegedly attacked by a spectator at a rugby game was sent for a brain scan after he began hallucinating at school, a court heard.
In an interview with a police officer played to the jury at Cardiff Crown Court, Thomas Owen said a doctor told him he had dried blood in his brain from where he was kicked in the attack on March 13, 2011.
The court heard he went back to hospital three days after the incident when he started hallucinating and his right eye began to droop, so he was sent for a CT scan.
The prosecution allege Paul Harrison, 42, of Brynteg Avenue, Pontllanfraith, was the man responsible for the attack.
He denies two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm against 17-year-old Mr Owen and Nicola Palmer at the game between the under-16s teams for Bargoed and Risca.
Mr Owen was a substitute for Bargoed and said he was standing on the sidelines when a scuffle broke out on the pitch around 15 minutes into the first half.
He said he was caught up in the fight, which ended up coming down an embankment where a man swung a punch at him, before he felt “kicks coming from everywhere”.
Mr Owen, who was 15 at the time, said the incident left him feeling “shocked.”
Proceeding.
