TWO Newport brothers received some special gifts after their efforts to see 37 SuperDragons in one day appeared in the Argus.
Newport Council presented Adrian and Evan Phillips, from Shaftesbury, with some SuperDragons souvenirs after councillor Debbie Wilcox read the story in the Argus.
Cllr Wilcox decided that nine-year-old Adrian, and seven-year-old Evan, deserved a reward after tracking down all 60 of this year’s SuperDragons.
The brothers followed the trail around the city and saw 37 of them in one day.
Cllr Wilcox said: “I was very impressed with the dogged determination and enthusiasm of the boys, and well done to their mum Tania who accompanied them on their quest.”
Mrs Phillips said the boys, who have become known as ‘the dragon duo’, were presented with activity books, badges, mugs, stickers and pens.
She said: “They had a good time and it was really nice that someone from the council had taken notice. They felt really special.”
There is still a chance to see most of the SuperDragons as they take up residence in the Kingsway Shopping Centre until October 13.
