Walkers climb 15 Snowdonia peaks for Hospice of the Valleys
TEN walkers climbed 15 mountains in just two days in aid of a Blaenau Gwent charity last weekend.
The team of fundraisers took on the gruelling Welsh 3,000s challenge for Hospice of the Valleys led by three instructors from Bryn Bach Park in Tredegar.
The walkers started the challenge at Snowdon on Saturday at 5.30am.
They completed Snowdon, Garnedd Ugain and Crib Goch that day all before lunch.
They then took on the five rocky and demanding peaks in the Glyder range before going back down in the dark just before 10pm - after more than 16 hours of walking.
Four members of the team continued the next day by scaling the seven mountains in the Carneddau range between 8am and 5pm.
The team marked their achievement with a celebration meal in north Wales and each received a medal for their efforts.
It is hoped the challenge will have raised at least £2,500 for the Hospice of the Valleys.
