A LIFEBOAT crew rescued two people, including one from Newport, from an island in the Gower penisular at the weekend.
The RNLI said two visitors, one from Newport and one from Cardiff, had gone to Burry Holms at Rhossili Bay at low water on Saturday afternoon but were cut off when the tide came in.
A 999 call for help from the two was made to Swansea Coastguard and a crew from Burry Port lifeboat station were dispatched to return the two to Rhossili Beach.
The two were taken into the care of Rhossili Coastguard.
