CWMBRAN FIRE: Police praise for Coed Eva blaze rescue bid
GWENT Police have praised the attitude of neighbours who "valiantly and bravely" tried to save the family killed in a Cwmbran house fire. More

Gwent Police say two men were already trying to get into the burning building when firefighters arrived. They used ladders which were still resting near the blackened windows.

Five Fire Stations and around 30 firefighters tackled the fire on Tallisland, Coed Eva this morning South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said.

Dewi Rose, Head of Operations for the service said they are still at the scene shoring up the property to enable scenes of crime officers and fire investigation team to survey the scene.

Ms Brown's twin sister Terena Mellor said baby Kimberley was 11lb 9oz when she was bought home. She said Kim's twin sister had died shortly after birth after the babies were born premature.
Speaking about Ms Buckley, she said: "I used to stop and talk to her when she was walking the dogs. You could hear her laugh a mile away."

Neighbour Tania Brown said she only found out about the incident when a friend texted her this morning. She said: "I am just shocked. I just wanted to cry when I heard."

Neighbour Tania Brown, 26, said baby Kimberley had only been brought home from hospital yesterday, aged around nine months.


She said: "Kim was so excited about bringing her grandchild home. She was a really nice person." She added Ms Buckley worked as a cleaner at Primark in Cwmbran.

Neighbour Louise Price said she had known the family for around 10 years.
She said:"Kim was so bubbly. She had an infectious laugh. I really cannot believe this has happened."
Ms Price said her partner had woken her up at 4am and she saw flashing lights but it wasn't until she woke later she found out what had happened.
She described how the family had only bought home baby Kimberley yesterday.
She said: "It is just so shocking. It's so so sad."

Gwent Police confirmed of the three who died at the house fire in Cwmbran as  46-year-old Kim Buckley, her daughter 17-year-old Kayleigh Buckley and her grand daughter, six-month-old Kimberley Buckley although they have yet to be formally identified.

A 27-year-old man from the Manchester area has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody.

THREE people have died following a house fire in Cwmbran in the early hours of this morning.

A Gwent Police spokeswoman confirmed that two adults and one infant died in the blaze at Tillsland, Coed Eva.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and is currently in custody.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 3.30am, with a South Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman describing it as a "serious house fire", that was tackled by four appliances and a water bowser.

Fire Service and police officers will this morning begin forensic investigations at the scene and conduct house-to-house enquiries in the area.

My daughter knew this young lady from school, she is in total shock and very upset. Iam reading the news about this and Iam in tears. I cannot believe anyone could be so evil and do this to another person especially an innocent like the baby. Hanging is too good for this person.

RIP Kim,Kayleigh and baby Kimberley,not seen u since moving upto dundee but wish to god we stayed in touch,ive put my wedding pics up on facebook of u shaun who was about 11 and kayleigh when she was 5,you told me not to say cheese when we got our pics done shout sex it makes u look happier,but that was u all over up for a giggle,cosidering u lost other babies in the carbon monoxide poisoning u always kept those we baby things so close to you, iv got so many memories but they will stay with me close to my heart with the memories we hold together secrets iv never told anyone and never will,the guy who done this will pay for what hes done but cant think off anything so bad to give him,you off all people didnt deserve this you have been through enough,may you all rest in peace along with your babies kim love you so so so much night night kim kayliegh and baby kimberley till we meet again soon xxxxx
