WALES VISIT: Archbishop Desmond Tutu
ANTI-APARTHEID hero Archbishop Desmond Tutu, pictured, is set to visit Wales in late October.
First Minister Carwyn Jones announced yesterday that he has invited the retired Anglican bishop to visit the country to see the work of the Wales for Africa programme, set up in 2006.
The programme helps individuals, groups and communities across Wales create links and get involved in projects with countries in Africa.
The First Minister said: “It seems fitting that the man who said ‘Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world’ is coming to recognise the efforts in Wales as we do our little bit of good.”
Dates and locations for his visit will be announced in due course.
