UPDATE: 4.33pm DELAYS of up to one hour are reported on First Great Western services between Newport and Swindon due to flooding between Severn Tunnel Junction and Bristol Parkway. The line is now fully open and trains can run on their normal routes, though trains will not call at Bristol Parkway. First Great Western have no estimate for when a normal service will resume.

 


 

 

UPDATE: 12.07pm HEAVY rain and flooding is causing disruption across Wales' train network.
National Rail have warned that no trains will call at Bristol Parkway and CrossCountry and First Great Western services between Newport and Swindon may be diverted, with journey times extended by up to an hour.

First Great Western passengers who have decided not to travel may travel tomorrow (Tuesday), according to National Rail. For help with your journey call TrainTracker on 0871 200 49 50.

One lane is closed on the M48 near Chepstow between M4 J23 and M48 J2 due to flooding.


UPDATE: 10.21am

Reports say fields and brooks are flooded in the areas surrounding Mathern in Monmouthshire and tree branches are on the roads.


UPDATE: 9.46am

FIRECREWS were called to the Wyesham area of Monmouth to deal with flooding. South Wales Fire and Rescue have sent several crews to the scene to pump water off the streets and help residents.

A spokeswoman from South Wales Fire and Rescue said: "We have asked the local authority to come to the scene with a gully sucker to clear the drains which are overflowing."
