A MAN was arrested today on suspicion of murder after a man's body was found in Cwmbran.

The 39-year-old man from the Cwmbran area remains in police custody.

Gwent Police say they were called to an address on Maendy Way, Pontnewydd in Cwmbran at around 10am this morning and on arrival the body of a man was discovered.

He is yet to be identified but is believed to be in his forties. His death is being treated as suspicious and a post mortem will be carried out over the weekend.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who might have any information to contact Gwent Police by dialling 101.

Diane Evans, of The Upper Cock Inn, Croesyceiliog said the community was in still in shock following the fire, in which three generations of the same family, died last week. She said: "The fire was a massive tragedy that we are still trying to come to terms with. Now to hear about this is terrible."
