Newport man charged with gbh bid on Gwent Police officer

A MAN will stand trial charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm to a police constable.
Andrew Church, 28, of Windmill Square, Commercial Road, Newport, appeared at Newport Crown Court where he pleaded not guilty to attempting to cause grievous bodily harm to PC James Gardener on June 15 this year.
He also pleaded not guilty to assault with intent of PC Gardener and assault occasioning actual bodily harm of PC Gardener.
Church was released on bail and is due to stand trial on February 12.
