A 34-YEAR-OLD woman had to be cut free from her car on the Southern Distributor Road (SDR) in Newport after she collided with the central reservation.
At 2.10pm yesterday police were called to the SDR close to the turn-off with Balfe Road after reports of the single car accident.
Fire crews from Malpas and Duffryn attended with hydraulic cutting equipment and saws to free the woman who was taken to hospital with suspected neck and back injuries.
The crash closed the SDR Eatbound from the Balfe roundabout for more than an hour and a half while the car was removed.
