TWO TEENAGERS arrested on suspicion of burglary after the body of a 60-year-old man was found at a Newport house have been released from custody.

The two boys, one aged 14 and one aged 15, were arrested following an incident at a house in Ailesbury Street, Crindau, on Tuesday.

The 14-year-old was released without charge while the 15-year-old was given a caution for criminal damage.

The Argus reported how the man’s body was later discovered at the house on Tuesday.

Following initial post-mortem examination findings, the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious.

The case is being investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission after police failed to discover the body of the man until eight hours after the original burglary report.

The matter is being assessed by the IPCC and a decision will be made in due course.
