I have lived in the Monmouth Constituency all of my life.

I've worked as a local government planning officer, welfare rights advisor and for a community safety partnership dealing with anti-social behaviour.

In 2004 I became a County Councillor serving on the Licensing Committee and the Housing and Community Safety Committee.

Currently I chair both the Children and Young People Overview and Scrutiny Committee and the South Torfaen Action Team dealing with anti social behaviour issues in Cwmbran.

Anti social behaviour is a real problem in communities in Monmouth and with my work experience and with Labour's tough measures on the issue, Monmouth would have a great team to tackle these important issues.

As a local candidate I know what the local issues are and I know how much help Labour's free prescriptions, the smoking ban and free bus passes for pensioners and disabled people have been to communities up and down this constituency.

Labour is offering 25,000 new apprenticeships for young people in Wales, discounted rail travel for pensioners, not-for-profit nursing homes, more affordable homes, extra childcare, pharmacy based drop in centres and maximum 26 weeks NHS waiting times from referral to treatment.

This comes on top of free prescriptions, free bus passes and record investment in education and health that Labour has already delivered.

Labour is offering more support for businesses and more support for more and better skills and jobs.

Employment in Wales is now lower than the UK average.

We all remember the problems the Tories gave Monmouth when they were last in power and people need to know that this Assembly election is a straight fight between Labour and the Tories and if they want to protect record investment in public services then they need to vote for Labour on May the 3rd.
