There are few things that we are able to do that give you a sense of pleasure, without feeling guilty.
The simple act of voting for your next Welsh Assembly representative is one of them.
The choice facing the people of Newport is finally becoming easier. The Liberal Democrats have consistently proven themselves to be trust worthy, hard working and friendly to the environment. We do what we say we are going to do.
The Assembly Members, who have looked after your interests for the past 4 years, are some of the most respected politicians in Wales today.
I very much want the opportunity to join the Liberal Democrat team in Cardiff Bay, to show the people of Newport just how well a Liberal Democrat Constituency Assembly Member can look after them.
In all areas, from healthcare to transport, from education to looking after our aging population, our policies have continued to be innovative, effective and popular. The outcome of the invasion of Iraq is a perfect example.
The Liberal Democrats have never avoided making difficult decisions. It is believed that our policy of taxing earnings over £100,000 at a higher rate lost us votes in the last General Election. However, our ground breaking policies have to be paid for, and we believe that being honest and up front about how we intend to pay for our ideas is better than promising first and paying later. I believe honesty goes along way.
The choice for people on 3rd May 2007 is not as hard as some will lead you to believe.
If you would like a representative in the Welsh Assembly who works for you, is honest with you and wants to protect this city and the environment it's in, then there is really only one choice.
Voting in this election will be a pleasure because it is so easy. Vote Liberal Democrat.
