BrandLab, the Newport fashion tech company, has appointed Matt Cooper as its director of menswear.

Industry veteran Matt was formerly head of menswear at Burberry and UK brand sales manager for YSL Pour Homme, where he managed a £25m annual turnover.

In a 30-year career, he has also worked for Aquascutum and Gianfranco Ferre.

Since 2015, Matt has been working as a consultant advising brands on production and sales.

Now he is joining BrandLab, the Newport-based online wholesale fashion platform designed for fashion buyers and retailers of all sizes.

Matt said: “I am really looking forward to helping BrandLab boost its menswear section, using my experience and network of contacts to attract even more high-profile brands and buyers.

“This is a special organisation with a unique offer as a one-stop-shop for buyers and brands.

“I’ve been so impressed with the calibre of the BrandLab platform and I’m sure I can attract buyers and brands of a similar calibre.”

BrandLab chairman Dan O’Connell said: “Matt is the latest in a series of high-profile appointments for us, and we are really excited about what he can bring to BrandLab.

“As we move towards a period of international expansion next year, Matt’s contacts and networking skills will be invaluable.”
