Torfaen businesses which have been successful in winning awards or have made significant achievements during 2017 met with Cllr Anthony Hunt, leader of Torfaen Council.

Business leaders from across a diverse range of sectors including financial services, manufacturing and food were congratulated for their successes at an informal networking lunch event held at the Civic Centre, Pontypool.

Cllr Hunt thanked businesses for their contribution to the lives of local people and the economy, and said: “It’s fantastic to learn that so many Torfaen businesses have been recognised for their hard work and excellence in their field. I wish all businesses in the borough a very successful and prosperous 2018.”

Michael McLeod, managing director of UniGreen Scheme based at Mamhilad Park Estate, Pontpool, said: “Being awarded with Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2017 Monmouthshire Business Awards was an extremely proud moment for me. It’s great to be recognised for all the hard work. I am really looking forward to growing and developing the business in Torfaen over the coming year.”
