BIG MATCH BANGERS: Butcher Mike Edwards with his County sausages
THEY say an army marches on its stomach and one city butcher beleives the same of footballers.
Life-long Exiles fan Mike Edwards, 44, who owns Edwards and Sons Butchers, on Caerleon Road, has spent the past week channeling his passion for the club into a special County sausage.
The celebration banger is a pork sausage loaded with champagne, apple, leek, mango and "a splash of Sam Foley magic," as well as a few secret ingredients.
The County mad butcher, said: "There's 22 of us heading down to London on the 7.10am from Newport and we'll have a few sausage baps with us. It will be amazing to see Wembley Way covered in County flags and scarves."
