TORFAEN: Jeff Rees (Plaid Cymru)
THIS election is a Welsh election. It makes sense to vote for the Welsh party. Plaid Cymru has a record of standing up for our area and our country all year round, not just at election time.
I’m proud to live here in Torfaen and I’d be honoured to fight your corner in the National Assembly. I’m the Plaid Cymru group leader on Torfaen council and chair the learning communities overview and scrutiny committee.
I am ambitious to deliver for Torfaen. We need: More jobs and better paying jobs for our young people – Plaid Cymru will support 30,000 apprenticeships and will boost the skills and employability of young people across Wales.
The right support for our small and medium size businesses to grow and create wealth – Plaid Cymru’s Small Business Bonus will not only provide a new £90 million small business loan scheme but will ensure continued tax relief to help develop our town centres and small businesses.
This is just what Pontypool, Blaenafon and Cwmbran need.
A public transport system that people can use every day and in the evenings to get around the borough – A Plaid Cymru government will create a better transport system to unite our nation and get Wales moving, speeding up journey to work and giving you fast, reliable and affordable ways to travel.
In these challenging times Wales needs a strong and ambitious party in government, not more of the same from others. Left alone Labour would continue to let Wales lag behind. Wales needs Plaid in government.
If you want an ambitious Welsh government to get on with the job then vote for Plaid Cymru.
In this Welsh election you’ll have two votes. One for your local Assembly Member (your first vote) and another (your second vote) for your team of regional Assembly Members.
This voting system is designed to prevent the party that wins the most local seats from also gaining the regional seats. Labour has never won a regional seat here and does not expect to gain one at these elections.
With Lib-Dem support collapsing, it’s a straight fight between Plaid and the Tories for the regional seats. The only way to stop the Tories is to vote Plaid Cymru.
Whichever candidate you support locally, give your second vote to Plaid Cymru for a Better Wales.
