FREE CONCERT: Once again this year the Rotary Club of Newport has arranged its excellent annual free concert for senior citizens and their supporters, which will be held at Christchurch Centre, Malpas, on Saturday May 20 starting at 2.30pm.

The concert will feature Newport Borough Band, Gwent Accordion Band and Caldicot Male Voice Choir.

This is a concert particularly arranged for Senior Citizens and their supporters, which you must note in your diary, also please spread the word amongst your friends, relatives and associates.

Remember it is quite free and it will be an afternoon of entertainment which will bring a smile to your face and certainly will get your feet tapping for a real musical experience.

Refreshment will be available and if you feel lucky you can enter a prize drawer. This is a concert offer much too good to ignore.

Tickets and further information can be obtained from Ron Morris on 01633 215446 who once again with his colleagues have proved stalwarts of support to provide entertainment to senior citizens who have supported many in their lives and continue to do so much voluntary work in our community.

NEWPORT CITY HOMES: Newport City Homes continue to carry out their stock condition survey on all their garages. Their priority is to ensure the safety of residents and the wider community.

They have found that a number of garages need considerable repairs and, if ignored could pose a health and safety risk. In phase one they have demolished 272 garages over a number of sites across the city.
Concern about site access information relating to health and safety around the demolition sites is available on their web site: newportcityhomes.com

Fencing will be reinstated if a garage forms a boundary to a garden.
There will be a program of work which will be planned for the next phase. There will be quarterly newsletters updates.

Also Acer Ecology will be carrying out bat surveys to check for bat roosts and bat boxes will be installed in woodland areas.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact: Laura Palfrey, the Community Relationship Officer on 01633 227767 or by email on laura.palfrey@Newportcityhomes.com.
