FUNDRAISING: Caldicot Male Voice Choir has a proud tradition of raising funds for deserving causes. In addition to its concert fundraising the choir’s associated cycle and golf clubs held a series of events, including an endurance ride around Redwick, a 200 mile cycle ride from the source of the Severn to Caldicot over three days, a golf tournament at the St Pierre Resort and a table top sale to raise a staggering £5245 for the Cardiff Branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

The cheque was presented to Tannwen Saunders, local representative of the MNDA by choir members on March 28 during a break in rehearsals at the Choir Hall by choristers Anthony Griffiths, Chris Nolan, Grahame Morton, choir chairman Mark Stocker and president Michael Shere-Massey.

Tannwen is quoted as saying the association is extremely grateful to all the choristers for all their tremendous efforts and the money will be used to support the needs of local people in South-east Wales who are suffering from this dreadful disease.

This year the choir is supporting The Severn View Open Doors project in Chepstow, in association with Dementia UK, to provide funds to help provide a garden to be used by sufferers of dementia and would welcome your support.
