THANK YOU: I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank all of the volunteers who have worked with me as part of the Pride in Pill group.

In 2014 Pride in Pill was formed. A small group with the same aims as me tirelessly and selflessly joined to help with a clean-up of the area.

The group which has now grown in number, has begun to bring to the area a much needed boost, not only in morale, but also the return of community spirit.

A big clean-up of the area is organised every two months. Rubbish is cleared of fly-tipping, also brush and shrubberies.

Members of Pride in Pill have also done gardening work for those who needed help. All of this gives residents a sense of pride in their community. In turn many residents help by trying to keep the streets clean.

The volunteers are also happy to provide help and advice to other communities who would like to organise litter pick-ups or other events. This was something Pill was always known for, the sense of community. Old time residents remember those times well.

The group known as Pride in Pill, works hard to achieve that community spirit and are beginning to succeed. In 2016 the volunteers travelled to Barry Island to help with the clean-up of that area. This gallant band is always there to give a helping hand whenever needed. Without them Pride in Pill would not exist.

Once again, I am proud to say thank you to all, for everything you do, for always being there whenever I need you and for caring about our community.

There are others who also deserve a thank you. They are the local businesses who support us with donations, for our various events and fund-raisers. Without your help they would not be possible.

If you support Pride in Pill and turn up to most of the events this year you will get a free Christmas pantomime ticket for The Riverfront in December 17 value of £12.

Pride in Pill will on April 12 meet at Pill Mill for free tea, coffee and biscuits. This will be the 55th event in 3 years.
