FUNDS: A Cwmbran opticians has raised more than £300 for Comic Relief. Staff at Specsavers in Cwmbran dressed up in red clothing and held a cake sale, encouraging customers to dig deep and donate on Red Nose Day.
In the lead up to the day the store sold comedy waving hand glasses for £2 and the team also offered local residents the chance to guess the number of sweets in a jar for a donation. Staff raised £306 for the charity through their various activities.
Comic Relief aims to tackle poverty and social injustice in the UK and further afield.
Specsavers has been a partner of the charity since 2015.
Mark Edwards, store director at Specsavers Cwmbran, said: ‘I’d like to thank our team, and the customers who donated, for their efforts – without them we would never have raised this impressive amount.’
