CHOIR: Following a concert with the San Jose Symphonic Choir in Cardiff last week, Caldicot Male Voice Choir is faced with a busy weekend on July 15-16.

Every year the Wimborne St Giles Flower Festival in the small Dorset village attracts many visitors to see the displays of flowers in the church and Caldicot Male Voice Choir is honoured to have been invited to sing at a concert in the Wimborne St Giles Church on the Saturday with the Brass Ensemble of Queen Elizabeth’s School, Wimborne which starts at 7pm. This year the Flower Festival will be on July 15-16 from 10am to 6pm.

However, on the Sunday they will have to speed back to Caldicot where the choir has been invited to share the evening stage with award winning choir Only Men Aloud at Caldicot Castle.

Caldicot choir will open the proceeding with a 45 minute programme of varied music from its extensive repertoire.

The second half will consist of a similar length programme from Only Men Aloud.

This is an open air ‘picnic in the park’ event and organisers Monmouthshire County Council tell us that it is already sold out.

Following these events the choir is looking forward to travelling to Edinburgh and Stirling in Scotland where it will be performing at the Edinburgh Fringe at the end of August.
