FUNDRAISER: Dawn Purkiss and colleagues with items for the food bank
FIRE: Dawn Purkiss, a member of Abergavenny Fire Service, has been working alongside Curtis White and Antony Hunt from the Youth Offending Service involving some local lads to raise money for a good cause.
“The initiative is called Positive Futures and every Friday the lads have been making items such as bird boxes, a bird table, small mammal cage and planters out of reclaimed wood,” says Dawn.
After a silent auction in Usk Monmouthshire County Council headquarters, the sum of £171 was raised which went into buying food and items for the food bank in Abergavenny.
