CONGRATULATIONS: Mr and Mrs Yeowell, both 96 years old, recently celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary.
Ted and Phyliss met when they were both in the army near Gosport, South Hampshire.
They were married on July 20, 1942, and are the proud parents of four children in addition to having five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
When being asked the secret to their marriage, Ted said, “The secret to our marriage is Phyllis always telling me what to do.”
Phyllis was lovingly cared for by her husband, while suffering with dementia, and was brought into care at Sunnybank EMI Residential Home, Griffithstown, in May 2017.
Phyliss is regularly visited by Ted and family and a party was held at the residential home on July 20, 2017, in celebration of their wedding anniversary.
The centre believes in ensuring that events like these are celebrated even though somebody may be in a care home.
The party was a huge success as both Ted and Phyliss enjoyed having their family around them to celebrate.
Congratulations Mr and Mrs Yeowell on 75 years of marriage.
