YEAR 6 pupils at Llantilio Pertholey Primary School took a nostalgic last look at their schooldays with their final assembly.
Entitled Goodbye My Friend their musical contained cameos of typical school life, the problems of filling in the register, the overworked teaching assistants, waiting for the school bus and over-protective parents.
Adding a touch of humour were five of the boys dressed as dinner ladies: Tom Heading, Lloyd Pocknell, Lewis Holley, Jac Evans and Callum Simmonds. And in serious contention for jobs at the school on the teaching staff were Billie-Jo Howells, Joe Ashton and Sally Bishop.
Others taking part were: Joel Leeb du Toit, Ryan Fletcher, Alys Le Moignan, Kelsea Richardson, Hannah Evans, Tom Jackson, Stacey Lambert, Katie Lewis, Liam Paxton, Jason Jones, Darnell Aitken, Lauren Deacon, Megan Davies, Rachel Hemmings, Liam Wintour, Luke Gumery, Eleanor Davies, Jemma Davies, Toby Meredith, Caitlin Bamber, Kelsey Francis and Troy Edwards.
All the dances were choreographed by the children and after the performance, which was very loudly applauded by the large audience of parents, grandparents and friends, the pupils were thanked by deputy head Mrs Maureen Jones. Accompanist was the school’s music co-ordinator Simon Oram.
Presentations were made to Mrs Sally Wham, Alun Evans and Simon Oram who accompanied Year 6 and class teacher Tracey Pugh on their London trip.
