CALDICOT WI PRESIDENT, Mrs Jan Ward, welcomed guest speaker, Mrs Heather Knight, to our June meeting. Mrs Knight, a retired florist, brightened up our afternoon by creating a beautiful floral arrangement. After giving useful tips and answering members' questions, Mrs Knight was thanked by Mrs Lyn Thompson for a very enjoyable afternoon.

The raffle was won by Mrs Hylda Arthur and the floral arrangement, kindly donated by Mrs Knight, was won by Mrs Pat Marsh.

The steam train outing on August 20, from Bishop's Lydeard to Minehead, is all arranged. Members were advised the coach will be leaving Caldicot Cross at 8.45am.

A visit to the pantomime at the Bristol Hippodrome on January 7, 2009, is being arranged (oh, yes it is!) Details to follow.

Members were reminded that the next meeting on Wednesday, July 9, will be a strawberry cream tea and a quiz. New members are always welcome.

LLANTILIO PERTHOLEY WI MEMBERS are holding a very different event from their normal monthly meeting in August. They are planning a My Fair Lady garden party at the home of Maureen Braithwaite at 7, Lansdown Road, Abergavenny on Thursday, August 7 between 2 - 4.30pm when members will dress in their finery. New members are always welcome.
