EVERGREEN SOCIAL CLUB: The Evergreen Club have just held their AGM for 2007.
Whist will continue to be played on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday evenings at 6.30pm. Bingo will be on Monday and Friday evenings, with refreshments and social time.
This year will be the 50th anniversary of the Evergreen Club, and they intend to do something very special to mark the occasion in September. In addition, there is a full programme drawn up for outings and social events.
Outings will include Tenby, garden visits, St Fagans, and possibly a weekend theatre trip. Some of these remain to be finalised by committee. Coffee mornings will also be held, along with a beetle drive and an autumn fair.
They hope to have a varied programme to attract many different people. Anyone over the age of 50 can be a member, there is no waiting list. If you live in the area, particularly Malpas or Bettws, please go along and join in. It's great to make new friends and enjoy yourself, better than watching TV every evening.
A very warm welcome awaits you all. For more information contact the secretary on 01633 211830.
The first event will be a tea dance in Porthcawl, at the Pavilion, on Tuesday, April 10. Coffee and cake sale on Saturday, March 3, at 10.30am. Do go along, meet everyone and make some new friends. Enjoy.
PLEASE SEND ME YOUR NEWS: Send me your news if you have any news of events taking place in the Malpas area, especially charity events, church news, fundraisers, sporting or social events, special birthdays, weddings, visitors from abroad, anything that will be of interest to the people in Malpas, and even further away.
