VANDALISED trains were used to provide extra cover for the rugby on the Ebbw Valley Line last weekend.
John Newman, 78, said he saw trains with graffiti pull into Rogerstone on Saturday afternoon.
An Arriva Trains Wales spokesperson said former-Central Trains units, which had not been cleaned, was used to add extra capacity for the matchday.
She said there had been no incidents of vandalism on the line.
