A CAR fire has closed the A4042 at Goytre, between Abergavenny and Pontypool, say eyewitnesses.
Fire crews, police and an ambulance were called to the scene, but police said the vehicle had been parked at the side of the road near the village's garage, and a suspected fault had caused a fire in it.
No one was injured.
Cars are being diverted onto smaller roads towards Chainbridge and Mamhilad while the vehicle is recovered, drivers told the Argus. Traffic has backed up and there are delays in the area.
