Biker killed in crash on Penygarn Road, Pontypool

UPDATE: 4.14pm

A 22-YEAR-OLD man from the Pontypool area has died following today's collision on Penygarn Road in Pontypool.

The dead man was riding a blue Yamaha motorcycle and his bike hit a green Volkswagen Golf.

The rider was seriously injured and was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital where he later died.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information should call 101 or the collision investigation unit on 01633 642404.

UPDATE: 2.50pm

PENYGARN Road in Pontypool is closed between the Park Road junction and St David's Close junction following an accident involving two vehicles.
