Abuse victim’s mother wallops Newport paedophile outside crown court

THE furious mother of a sex abuse victim launched an attack on the paedophile responsible as he came out of court yesterday.

Christopher Lee, 40, of Abbey Road, Newport, was slapped around the face by the woman before she was restrained as stunned barristers and other people waiting outside the courts looked on.

A court official eventually broke up the fracas and Lee walked back towards the courtroom.

Police spoke to the families outside but no action was taken. The drama started outside court number three at Cardiff Crown Court after Lee’s sentencing for seven counts of indecent assault and one count of sexual assault on a child was adjourned.

He was sitting with a man and a woman on a bench when the family and friends of his victims left the court and spotted him.

The families, who had been emotional throughout the hearing began to shout at Lee, before one of the mothers leapt forward and slapped him across the face.

The woman with Lee reacted by striking the mother with one of her crutches before the man with Lee pinned her to the floor of the court atrium by the back of her neck.

Lee’s sentencing was adjourned for at least three weeks after Judge Daniel Williams said he was unhappy with the pre-sentence report and ordered another one to be prepared.

The judge apologised for the delay to both the families in the public gallery and Lee.

He bailed Lee on the condition that he was not to make contact with any of the children involved in the case and that he was to co-operate with the probation service.

A natural reaction to anything that threatens out kids. Yet again the courts let the victim down as 'report' unsatisfactory . Why not enough excuses to let him off? Piffle he's found guilty send him down for a long time

If the report is unsatisfactory, it's the fault of the person who prepared it, not the courts.

I know for a fact that this man deserved what he got! It is not only a case of one girl there are 3 girls involved with this case and the justice system hasn't treated them as well as they should have been treated, these young children have been messed around so much not being able to have counciling until the sentencing is over and done with and now that has been adjourned for three more weeks they have to wait that bit longer to actually put their minds at rest, it is just not fair on them with what they have been through!

Natural Justice seems to be the only true form. In India they are saying nobody is going to represent the rapists and they want them hanged as well. They get PC counselling here, 3 meals a day, and TV, and free in months... it's civilisation Jim, just not as we know it...

Why would you want him to eat your Grand Children, wouldn't that make him a Cannibal? Or maybe he's 'Pennywise the Clown' as he stated "I am the eater of worlds and off children"!

I feel saddened that he was alowed to go free after they found him responsible. These families will live forever with his crimes, who protects them. Many years ago an iddiot like this was in a playground in Gwent, the parents watched the kids from a house overlooking the park. Sure enough the idiot came into the park whereupon the protectors caughjt him before calling the local bobbies. These xxxxxxx are in our society, we are told their problem is one of sexuality and not treatable. Slap him, I'm sorry but if he laid a finger on my daughter I would make him dissapear. PC? Pathetic system, no balls, who protects the victims? The judge needs examining.
