A man arrested on suspicion of the murder of missing Kyle Vaughan has been released from police custody.

The 27-year-old man from the Blackwood area was arrested on Thursday and has been questioned by murder squad detectives about Kyle's disappearance over the weekend.

The last believed sighting of 24-year-old Kyle Vaughan of Newbridge was on the A467 between Risca and Crosskeys, some time between 11pm and 11.45pm on December 30th 2012.

It has emerged that Kyle’s car had been involved in a collision on the same night at around 11.45pm. Kyle's car, a silver Peugeot 306, has been found.

It is believed Kyle was wearing a dark coloured beanie hat, a dark coloured t-shirt, ¾ length denim shorts, white trainers, and a gold chain.

Police yesterday made a fresh appeal for information Kyle, releasing a picture of his car.

A 21-year-old man from Newbridge and 15-year-old boy from Abercarn, both arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Detectives are continuing to investigate Kyle Vaughan's disappearance.
