A MONTH ago today, "a family-orientated, larger than life, fun-loving" 24-year-old went missing from his Newbridge home.

Kyle Vaughan, 24, known to his friends as "Jabbers," has not been seen since late on December 30 when his damaged silver Peugeot 306 was found on the A467 between Risca and Cross Keys.

Since then, more than 50 police officers and staff have been dedicated to the investigation.

Officers have collected in excess of 230 statements from individuals and have trawled through more than 200 hours of CCTV footage from 100 different sites.

Eight people have been arrested in connection with the former Cwmcarn High School pupil's disappearance, four of them on suspicion of murder.

A 27-year-old man and a 24-year-old man, both from Blackwood and a 28-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman both from Cwmfelinfach have previously been arrested on suspicion of murder and since been released on bail.

A 21-year-old man from Newbridge and a 15-year-old boy from Abercarn have been bailed on suspicion of assisting an offender while a 22-year-old woman from Newbridge and a 62-year-old man have been released on bail following their arrests on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

Senior investigating officer Detective Superintendent Peter Jones, said: "No matter how small or insignificant you may think the information is, please call us because it may make all the difference to our investigation.

"We remain fully committed to finding out what happened to Kyle and we wonÕt stop until all avenues and lines of enquiry have been exhausted.

Mr Vaughan was believed to have been wearing a dark coloured beanie hat, a dark coloured T-shirt, three quarter length denim shorts, white trainers, and a gold chain on the night he disappeared.
