Newport pupils get TV talk on keeping tidy

LITTER LESSON: The Gregory Brothers and Tidy Ted visited St Woolos Primary School and were helped by teacher Adele Parry and pupils Taylor Heard and Aaron Barber to get the recycling message across
CHILDREN at more than 40 primary schools are receiving an important lesson from S4C’s Gregory Brothers.
The entertainers visited St Woolos Primary School on Stow Hill on Tuesday mixing entertainment with messages about looking after the environment.
Pupils learnt about environmental issues and healthy living through songs and were joined by Newport’s mayor, councillor John Guy, and the cabinet member for infrastructure, Councillor Ken Critchley.
Councillor Critchley said: “The Gregory Brothers proved they were real show stoppers when they entertained more than 1,500 school children at Newport’s EcoWeek in September.
“This is a very effective and fun way of getting vital messages about the environment and healthy living across to the next generation.
We are very pleased that Newport was able to secure Welsh Government funding to support this.”
