THREE Newport men have been handed jail terms for supplying cannabis.
Gareth Elliot, 33, Christopher Wright, 40 and Michael Booth, 55, were arrested after over £60,000 worth of skunk cannabis was found in a Ford Transit van near Tredegar Park.
A property in New Pastures was also found to have a further £20,000 worth upon investigation, in connection with the men.
£5,000 was also discovered in cash.
All three pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cannabis, with Elliott, formerly of New Patures but now of Risca Road, admitting he was the significant player and to being a wholesale cannabis dealer.
He was sentenced to three years imprisonment at Newport Crown Court.
Wright, of Risca Road, was given a 12 month sentence, as was Booth, of New Pastures.
